We recommend the following technical means for the operation of automated library system Advanced Rapid Library:
Server infrastructural requirements
Advanced Rapid Library consists of three HW infrastructure parts. The primary backend server (database and application server) and the web frontend server, where both are required. Replication server is optional, but recommended.
Primary backend server:
- HW: x64 architecture with the number of vCPU cores in accordance with the database platform license. RAM 16GB and more. File storage on redundant storage with a capacity of at least 500 GB (as needed). Recommended storage performance 1000 IOPS and higher. SSD disk storage is recommended.
- SW: 64-bit operating system. AlmaLinux 9, RHEL 9, or Microsoft Windows Server (up to v2025).
Web frontend server:
- HW: 4 vCPU cores, 8GB of RAM at least. The recommended storage capacity same as the primary backend server at least.
- SW: OS AlmaLinux 9, or RHEL 9.
- Public static IP address required.
Replication server:
- HW: 1 vCPU and 8GB of RAM at least. The recommended storage capacity same as the primary backend server at least.
- SW: Same operating system type as the primary backend server.
Working station
Minimum configuration:
- SW: Windows 10 with internet browser and internet connection. (Microsoft Windows 10 support ends 14.10.2025)
- HW: Appropriate HW configuration for operating system type.
Optimal/recommended configuration:
- HW: Windows 11 with internet browser and internet connection,
- SW: Appropriate HW configuration for operating system type.
