Our colleagues from RFID department traveled to Switzerland last week, to the headquarters of the Bibliotheca company. They attended annual performance and training of new company products. Customers will be informed about the news, among other things, during the ARL seminar in May.

Statistics in EPCA

A meeting of representatives of academic libraries took place in the EU in Bratislava on Wednesday, 1 February, 2017. The subject of the meeting was to talk about possibilities of creating new detailed EPCA statistics in ARL library system. The current statistics are no longer sufficient. It was agreed that new, more detailed statistics will be produced using a new technology – ZEN.

FOLIO platform

On 17 January 2017 our colleague Libor Piškula participated in Budapest FOLIO platform presentation. It is an EBSCO initiative of creating a new open platform based on modern technologies. For more information see folio.org.

Seminary ARL 2017

Our customers can already note the date of the ARL seminar in their calendars for 2017. It will last from 3 March 2017 to 4 March 2017. The seminar will take place at the frontier of the Czech Republic with Slovakia. The information was sent by mail, details and invitations will be sent out in time.

We would like to express a big congratulations to The Research Library of South Bohemia and Moravian Library for being awarded The Library of 2016 by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic for the project Obálkyknih.cz. It was our pleasure to participate in the project.

Congratulations on the 70th Anniversary

Well-organized celebration by the round table on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of foundation of SPU library took place in grounds of SPU library in Nitra. It was organized in the spirit of balancing, and importance of academic libraries was highlited there, with mentioning SPU library as a shining example. The rector of the university also apraised that, and he granted a special award to the library. We also appreciate the library, especially its selflessness and enthusiasm of employees, and we gladly support the library as well.
